About Goldring Home Inspections

The company was founded by Mr. Jack Goldring in 1956 after realizing the need for a professional home inspection service. He started the first full time home inspection company in Connecticut, and was the first to be listed in the Yellow Pages as a Home Inspector.  In 1976, Jack was a participant in the formation of ASHI® and is a Charter Member of the Society.

In 1979 the day-to day-operation of the business was taken over by John Ghent, and in 1982, the company was purchased by John and Carol Ghent. John & Carol, are full partners in the business. Carol runs the office and the administrative side of the company while John performs inspections and runs the inspection side of the business. John continues to be active in ASHI and served as President of ASHI in the year 2001. In addition to performing inspections John trains and lectures other inspectors. With over 25 years of inspection experience he has been recognized as an expert witness in inspection related matters.
